I am a business major with a concentration in marketing. Can I be competetive in interviews involving retail management positions with this degree?

Many retail establishments put you into management training, no matter WHAT degree you have, and some don’t even require a degree. They will train you in how they want their stores to be managed. Don’t expect to get into real “management” any too soon. You have to demonstrate your real abilities before they give you real responsibility.

If you posess a degree - or any extra qualification - then you’ll already be ahead of the masses when it comes to looking for professions. My pal has a degree and he wasn’t sure what direction to go with it, but he found some great guidance on the resource in the resource box below which guided him to decide that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is plenty of assistance on the resource regarding extra professions.
