Are there any websites that have reports on retail gasoline prices?

retail prices
uao621 asked:

I need monthly price averages for my city from December 2006 to the present. I am comparing what I have spent on fuel at Costco to the prices at regular retail gasoline stations.

You’re in luck, Yes. since you didn’t mention your geographic location, i’ll start by giving you the broadest website -

from there, you can click on whichever state you live in (or province, if you’re in Canada).
From there, are listed major cities and towns that have websites created due to market demand.

Once you find your city (or nearby city), you can click on the link that will bring up reported gas prices of local gas retailers in that specific area.
You can join - for FREE - and contribute to the reporting process to help keep others informed as to who/where is selling petrol for what amount.
Obviously, the better priced fuel retailers are rewarded with (theoretically), more customers looking for a better price.

On the site is also a graphical chart that shows the trends of gas prices within that region. Cool stuff.

Within each site is also a community forum you can peruse to find other tidbits of information, as well as commiserate with others about similar topics.
