Klady R. H asked:
I am a distributor of forever living products in Liberia. The business was introduced to Liberia by The Ivory coast therefore our price list came from the Ivory coast. But we have met a distributor from Nigeria who claims that our retail prices are too high whereby the company states that all countries should have a universal price list no matter what.? Therefore he claims that if he should start marketing here in Liberia and take his products from Nigeria he will beat the market because his retail prices are far cheaper than ours.

the issue could be related to the difference in currency exchange rates between Liberia and Nigeria….forgive my ignorance but I’m not familiar with the currencies of either country…just a thought

There is no such thing as a universal price list, as commerce law varies from country to country.
Retail prices are not a significant factor in selling a product. Cost and the selling price are prime factors, which are affected by transportation, tariffs, taxes, etc.
The different cost for the identical product is known as arbitrage. If he can do it without bumping into the aforementioned tax or import laws, then you should do it too.

I am a distributor as well, the duty and country import policy and currency are different, with these flexable factors, the retail price will not be the same in all countries.
