Which is if you buy tobacco, cigarettes and alcohol we MUST ask for your ID age regardless. We don’t care if you look 99 yrs old, we WILL ask for your ID because it’s company policy.
Anyways, this lady came in yesterday and bought a 20 pack. I asked for her ID. She was 40+ years. When I asked her to give me her ID she told me, why? This is insulting? ***? How is it insulting to follow company rules and or regulations? Are customers stupid now a days? According to my manager I am allowed to deny the sale if they refuse to give me their ID. So how is this insulting?

Most 40 year-olds are thrilled to get carded, because it means that they look young! Obviously this woman was in the mood to get offended at anything, or perhaps people who are addicted to tobacco don’t appreciate any barrier between them and their cigs.

It’s not. You just inconvenienced her by asking. As we all know it is a cardinal sin to inconvenience an American. Taking up valuable time with such a ridiculous request.
I get carded all the time and I’m over 40.

It was probably just a stupid lady, just ignore her and people like that. Most older women would probably be happy that they were carded, as it makes them feel like they looked younger, but some people think it’s rude to ask what an older woman’s age, or marital status is. It’s kinda strange… =P

The broad was being insulting herself! If this is co. policy and anyone knows it is. The word she chose was wrong! That was not insulting it was inconvienient. Next time you see her explain that asking for I.D. is required and the only insult was her use of the wrong word. She insulted your intelligence!

its not insulting its just people love to be annoying. they want everything to be so convenient. I **** people

That is not insulting- people have to show ID for lots of things. If your store sells tobacco or alcohol to underage people, it will lose its license to do so. So if that happens again just say “Sorry, it’s company policy. If I sell you cigs without looking at your license I will lose my job.”

the broad was looking for something to be mad at. some people are only happy if they are mad. ( my mother in law was that way) anyway as allot of the other people said she was inconvenienced on a nicotine melt down, or just feeling nasty that day. she could even be looking for some reason to sue but most older women are flattered to get carded after it makes them think that you think they are young.
