I noticed that people who write the news on sites like Yahoo know about information such as consumer spending, interest rate cut, etc before the news come out. Whereas, I only know about those information when the news come out.
I noticed that people who write the news on sites like Yahoo know about information such as consumer spending, interest rate cut, etc before the news come out. Whereas, I only know about those information when the news come out.
SO my questions are:
1. where do you get information such as:
- retail sales data
- interest rate, etc
- and anything that will affect the economy or stock market
Also
2. What would be good websites to monitor:
- commodity prices
- currency

If you don’t have an account with a brokerage firm, go to Yahoo Finance. All the info you are looking for is there and it’s free.

I think you can get information in your first question. For the things the affected the world economy and stock markets, you can learn it from watching TV and read the news papers.
2)
You can check the currency website.

This gives you the date, time and even country making the announcement, all in an easy format to read. It also gives an explanation of what the announcement/numbers mean and why it is important. I also reference this page every day. Should help. Let me know if you need anything else. But the site is great.
