When retail companies do background checks-what shows up on them? What are they looking for?

I had a friend who had a background check done for a part time job paying 7.50 an hour???? ***….She said it was so detailed it pulled up some bad news cousins she didn’t even know she had….Seems like a waste of $$$ for a company especially for a PT job-when those employees are always coming and going??

Wal mart looks for any convictions but not anything financial. They are protecting themselves from law suits. They have been sued cause they hired a guy who was a convicted *** offender and was caught on surveillance camera trying to offend an adolescent at work.

Better safe than sorry. Depends on the job. Especially if it involves children or medical care.

Mostly criminal in nature……check to see if you have had any convictions of any crimes, time served in prison or jail, if your on probation, some times they also do a driving record check…..

Background checks look for criminal activity, past names used, previous addresses etc..
Companies do not pay per background check, they have a contract with a company to whom they play a flat fee usually monthly. It does not matter if they do one background check or one thousand they pay the same amount.

Does anyone know how to purchase a copy of these background checks? What company do they normally use?
