This story made the headlines here in Australia yesterday, the general consensus seems to be “good on them” . I must admit when I worked in retail customers who were talking on their phones while I was trying to serve them was a pet ****! What do you all think of this ?

It is a very huge pet peeve for me also.
Your not able to help a person if they aren’t paying attention and you aren’t able to help others cuz they are holding up the line.

I think that when someone needs to interact with a sales person, they should put their call on hold, or call that person back. In fact, as a general rule, I think it’s rude for someone to talk on their cell phone, in the car (while other people are riding with them), in restaurants and anywhere that I may have hear a stranger having a conversation on the phone.

You should extend the courtesy of your undivided attention to the person physically present, not the device attached to your ear.
