Heart asked:
The city I live in is having a huge ice storm. The driving conditions are horrible and there are several thousands of people without electricity because of the ice. My fiance works at a retail store. I asked him to call in because I didn’t want him on the road and the news was advising people to stay home unless they absolutely had to get out. My fiance NEVER calls in to work and is very reliable. So he calls in and they tell him too many people have called out already and he has to come to work. They have hardly any employee’s there and no customer but insist on keeping the employee’s who did come to work as late as possible. They close at 9pm and it is now 10pm and they haven’t let anyone leave yet. Keep in mind the ice storm is still continuing and driving conditions are getting worse. Is business and money more importand then the safety and lifes of others?

Someone’s life is very important - more important than keeping a store open during dangerous conditions.
We in the rich West, can afford to do a lot of things. We can afford vacations (at least a lot of us can), whereas wage-slaves usually can’t afford to stop working for that long. Slightly more difficult to understand: we can afford legislation and regulation, such as driving licenses and minimum wages, which poorer countries cannot afford (when your country’s starving, you’re not going to try and stop someone getting to work, just because they’re driving’s a bit wonky). We can definitely afford to protect workers from unscrupulous bosses who put their staff in danger!

I find that if your a good worker they put more responsibility on you than other and you should tell your fiance to stay where he is because he’s safer staying there then coming home I know it is a tough call but f your worried about his safety he should not be driving in this mess

I am vinayak.
i think first safety of self is more importent. this is because see if u r safe then only u can serve others for a long period rather than to serve only once.but also u should be sure that u r providing the best to others only then the god will give u the best.
